Oklahoma State University Admissions
Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted through the month prior to the semester for which one wishes to enroll, with an application fee of $40. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores. Applications can be submitted on-line. Requirements for admission include taking the ACT or the SAT, high school graduation or the GED, and either a set test score, a GPA and class rank combination, or a GPA in the core requirements and test score. Core course requirements include four units of English, three units of mathematics, three units of history and citizenship skills, two units of laboratory science, and three additional units from the previous categories and/or computer science and/or a foreign language.
Applicants to campuses other than Stillwater should consult each campus separately for requirements and procedures.
Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and fee, transcripts, and materials as required by the individual department, such as test scores and letters of recommendation. A graduate application has an application fee of $25.
OSU prides itself on two themes of admissions: choice and value. The admissions website offers an online Inquiry Form through which applicants can submit whatever questions they have about the admissions process. Incoming freshmen can choose from three different admission criteria options, each utilizing a different combination of high school performance, class ranking, and GPA. Overall, incoming students must demonstrate a 3.0 GPA and at least a score of 22 on the ACT and 1020 on the SAT.
For incoming freshmen, OSU also offers several alternative admissions programs. The primary Alternative Admission program is for students who may fall just short of the stated admissions requirements. There is also a Summer Provisional Program for students who enroll immediately following high school graduation.
